Best deal on Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs

November 4th, 2006 at 05:34 pm

I went to our local Home Depot this afternoon (in Reading, MA) to get a few things for the house. Tomorrow I will install our programmable thermostat.
We also went for Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs, and boy did we find a deal. The pack of 6 bulbs usually goes for $9.99. They were on sale for $3.99. In addition, I found coupons, in the store, for an extra $2 off a pack. That means we got 3 6-pack for only $1.99 a pack!! Woohoo... we have enough CFL bulbs to last us a lifetime.

    Wow~ Tt's so cheap!!!
Can I know izzit a energy saving bulb type or jst a regular light bulb? Bcoz the 1st type bulb can save up to 70% og energy & last for 3 years (If no mistake) ^o^ But it usually more expensive, but worth buying too...

What a deal! I went to Lowe's today. Should have gone to Home Depot instead!

Great deal! I also put in a device in the light socket that has a motion sensor that turnsoff and on without using hands. I have free hands and I never have to go back to turn the light off as it turns itself off!Smile

ifeel - you're making me doubt now. Are there CFL that are not energy saving? The pack has the Energy Star logo on it... hm.. I'm going to run down the basement and check that.

Ok, all better. They are energy saving.

PricePlus - you have to tell me more about this... what is this device??
Does it turn on and off as you walk in and out of room? Isn't it a bit annoying when you walk out of the kitchen just to get a little something and lights turn off?.. Just wondering

  7. PRICEPLUS Says:

Lau, I picked it up at Lowes. I use it in the laundry area. It turns on while I have a basket as it is a motion sensor. If you are not working in the area the light turns off automatically. I used it there so I can have hands free and carry baskets in and out without having to use a switch! I'll try and send you more info!

Wow. That's cheap enough that I would actually stock up even if I don't need it right now.

that's awesome, it's about the same price as conventional bulbs! yay for energy efficiency.

i think 6 60w or 4 100w usually go for $10 in jersey. last time i got a bunch of them when they were 50% off (state subsidized CFL program). i like the CFL from home depot, they light up quickly.
